The EU Commission published a study made by PE Europe on the Life Cycle Assessment of PVC and of Principal Competing Materials. This study is the final step in the long process followed by the European Commission to clarify the environmental performance of PVC and independently confirms that PVC is as good a material as any other, with both strong and weak points, depending on the application and on its use, and that there is no reason to treat PVC differently from any other material.  EUROPA - Enterprise - Chemicals - Green paper on environmental issues of PVC
