The Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Foro Ibérico of PVC have signed an agreement to study how PVC contributes to reduce CO₂ emissions to the atmosphere throughout its life cycle, in relationship with other materials.

This study, carried out by an UPC team led by the professor José Mª Baldasano, is financially supported by the Foro Ibérico of PVC. Several representatives of the companies, members of this association, are also involved to supply technical data.

The study is focused in the PVC applications on building and construction. First results are due to be published by summer 2005.
