Brussels – 11 January 2005: The European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers (ECVM) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new chairman, Paul Neu, to succeed David Thompson.
M. Neu who is the President and CEO of SolVin and an active member of ECVM’s Vinyls Committee formally took over the responsibilities of Chairman from the end of December 2004.
His extensive experience in the PVC industry will help him to represent the industry at a time o f extensive dialogue with European authorities on the implementation of the industry’s Voluntary Commitment.
M. Neu will also take over the Chairmanship of Vinyl 2010, the organisation responsible for implementing the PVC industry’s Voluntary Commitment.
After over two years as chairman of ECVM, David Thompson is moving to become the CEO of EVC Films, a major downstream user of PVC resin. He will however still remain an active member of the wider PVC industry and will continue working to promote and protect PVC for the future.
